You worry and are troubled about many things, whereas only one thing is needed.

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, He entered a village and a woman called Martha welcomed him to her house. She had a sister named Mary who sat down at the Lord's feet to listen to his words. Martha, meanwhile, was busy with all the serving and finally she said, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the serving?" But the Lord answered, "Martha, Martha, you worry and are troubled about many things, whereas only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the better part, and it will not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:38-42)

The Gospel today teaches us about the source of true peace and happiness.  We sometimes worry and are troubled with so many things that we already forget to spare a minute of our time to  reflect and pray. With all that's been happening lately, let us not forget to talk to Him. As Padre Pio once said, "Pray, hope and do not worry." Prayer is not a one-way conversation. God speaks to us in prayer and we feel His presence in our midst. Prayer is not informing God about things He didn't know. It is made to humble man's heart, to inflame his faith and to testify that He is God, the maker of everything.
